Publish your website
Understand what saves live, review website drafts, and check the site your visitors will see.
Know what saves live
Website presentation edits, such as inline page text, hero images, logos, brand styling, page sections, and FAQ content, remain drafts until you publish the website changes.
Event facts are different. Dates, start times, locations, distances, courses, sponsors, and changes saved through Event basics or event settings can take effect immediately. A pending website draft does not protect those facts from going live. Review the surface you are editing before saving.
Review and publish
Open Website for the correct event
Use the page picker to check the home page and any additional pages. If the site was built from an existing website, review the imported text, images, links, and event details before publishing.
Preview the website
Use Preview to inspect the draft. Check the title, key dates, distances, contact details, images, and registration or volunteer links. Preview includes unpublished presentation changes, so it is not proof of what a signed-out visitor currently sees.
Review Pending changes
The website has one Publish action for pending presentation changes across its pages. Check all affected pages, not only the one currently open. Use Discard only when you intend to remove the pending draft changes.
Publish and confirm visibility
Publish the reviewed website changes. If the site is unpublished, use its visibility control to make it live. EHQ publishes pending website changes as part of making an unpublished site live; if that step reports a problem, resolve it before assuming the site launched.
If the visibility control says Plan required, review the plan requirements shown in EHQ. Publishing presentation edits and having permission to make a website live are separate checks.
Check the visitor experience
Open the public website URL in a private or signed-out browser window, without a preview parameter. Check it on a phone as well as a desktop. Follow the registration and volunteer links to confirm they lead to the intended destination. Website publication does not automatically open registration or send an announcement.
If the public site looks different
Check whether changes are still pending, whether you are viewing a preview link, and whether the site is live. Do not repeatedly republish while a publish operation is failing. Read the error and reopen the editor to confirm which changes are still saved.
